Two North Tyneside teachers are battling it out to be crowned the top teacher in the north east.

intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square are going head to head in their search for the North East Teacher of the Year 2015.

Parents, teachers and students from across the region were asked to nominate their favourite teacher via social media.

And Mrs Kemp, of Wellfield Middle School in Whitley Bay has been chosen as the finalist for Eldon Square while Mr Denton, of King Edward Primary School in North Shields, has been selected as the Metrocentre finalist.

Now whoever gets the most retweets on Twitter – via https://twitter.com/intueldonsquare/status/620577683152465920 or https://twitter.com/intuMetrocentre/status/620587240490668032 – before Wednesday, July 15, will be crowned the winner.

The winning teacher will be crowned North East Teacher of the Year 2015 and will be rewarded with an all-expenses paid pamper day in the form of a £300 intu Gift Card.

The runner up will receive an intu Gift Card worth £50.
