Two men appeared before Newcastle Crown Court on Thursday, November 26 and were sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Jamie Percival, 27, of Stable Lane, Gosforth, and Troy Donohue, 39, of Churchill Street, Wallsend, have both been sentenced to six years for robbery and possessing a pointed article.

Detective Chief Inspector John Bent said: “We welcome the outcome at court and are happy that these dangerous offenders are now off the streets.

“There’s no place for violent and threatening behaviour in our communities and I’m pleased they are both serving a significant time in prison, which reflects the seriousness of the offence.”
