Pair rob pizza delivery driver in street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a street robbery in North Shields.

A 30-year-old man was delivering pizza to an address in Chirton West View at around 11.35pm on Sunday, December 20, when he was approached by two men.

The pair threatened him and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before making off.

The man was shaken but otherwise unhurt.

The offenders are described as both white men, one 6ft 1ins tall with black hair with brown freckles on his cheeks who spoke with a local accent.

The second man was approximately 5ft 9ins tall, medium build, with ginger or strawberry blonde hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
