PARKING: Object decision to stop the permits

Have your say

For some time it has been possible for local residents to purchase an annual permit to park in any of the designated car parks between Tynemouth Priory and St Mary’s Island.

My current permit cost £50, which I consider good value.

The council has suspended the issue of new permits following some recent changes in car park charges.

It is now proposing to stop issuing or renewing permits and say that unless objections are received this will take effect from mid-September.

No reasons have been disclosed for this decision.

If you are a frequent user of the foreshore car parks, please register your objection by e-mailing
