A Cullercoats community has come together for a traditional street party.
The event took place in St Oswin’s Avenue on Saturday, August 22.
Poor weather held off until the evening, and neighbours were able to share food, fun, music and games.
The street was transformed for the day, and children were able to play in a car-free road.
The party highlighted the already existing community spirit of the area, with the planning and preparation for the special day helping to develop a determination to try to build on residents’ skills and goodwill.
A wonderful time was had by all and residents are looking forward to the next party.
Organisers wish to thank everyone for their hard work and good wishes, which helped to make the event a success, as well as North Tyneside Council and police for support and advice.
