Pedestrian injured after collision involving car in North Tyneside

A 21-year-old woman is believed to have suffered serious injuries following a collision in North Shields on Tuesday.

Police are appealing for information following the incident at 10.27am on Tuesday, May 19, when a car and pedestrian were involved in a collision in Trevor Terrace.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian has been taken to the RVI in Newcastle, where police said it was believed she had suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 76-year-old man, was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital as a precaution.
