Young performers are preparing to take to the stage for two sell out shows.

Whitley Bay-based Decote Dance are bringing their show ‘Dreams in Wonderland’ to the Playhouse Whitley Bay.

It will be their biggest show to date, doubling the size of last year’s with more than 300 children aged from two to 17 performing a mix of tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, street dance and musical theatre.

Owner Jo-Anne Torre was recently awarded the 2015 ‘Positive Peter’ award by Dance Teacher Hub.

She said: “It was fabulous to achieve the ‘Positive Peter’ award and now it’s all systems go as we finalise details for this year’s huge show.

“We’ve had such a busy summer rehearsing and it’s been wonderful to see the children’s excitement build as show time gets closer.”

Two sold out shows take place on Sunday, September 20, with a third show on Thursday, September 24, in conjunction with pupils from Langley, Coquet Park, Preston Grange, Star of the Sea and Kings Priory first schools.
