Plenty of chances to raise issues with police

RESIDENTS are being invited to meet their beat bobbies to discuss any issues concerning them.

Officers from Wallsend neighbourhood policing team are holding a series of drop-in sessions this month.

Acting Inspector Phil McConville said: “We want to encourage people to come along and meet their neighbourhood officers.

“We want people know who their local officers are and how they can make contact.”

Events will take place:

n Today, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Wallsend People’s Centre, and from 8pm to 9.30pm at Elmfield Community Centre.

n On Sunday, from 3pm to 5pm, at Battle Hill Library.

n Next Wednesday, from 10am to 11am at Howdon Community Centre.

n On Saturday, August 25, from 9.30am to 10.30am at Wallsend Library.

n On Monday, August 27, from 10am to 11am, at the Sure Start centre in Howdon Lane.

n On Thursday, August 30, from 5pm to 6pm, drop-in at Howdon Community Centre.
