Police officers have been joining with the Bangladeshi community to celebrate Eid.
Officials from North Tyneside Area Command joined around 200 members of the Bangladeshi community at Foxhunters Pavilion on October 4 to celebrate the Muslim religious festival.
Chief Inspector Steve Readdie said: “We were very pleased to be invited to attend this celebration and say a few words of welcome.
“It was a very enjoyable event, we know this festival is celebrated in communities across the world and it was special to be involved in this occasion in Whitley Bay.”
Mohammed Ramzan, of the North Tyneside Bangladeshi Community Association, added: “We are delighted to hold this event outside the Mosque for the first time and to have our local policing team involved.
“We are very grateful to our partners and the Foxhunters Pavilion who helped this happen.”
