POLICE will be holding a drop-in surgery at a charity family fun-day in Longbenton next week.

Officers from the Killingworth neighbourhood policing team will be at the Barnardos Longbenton children’s centre in Chester’s Avenue, between 1pm and 3pm on Wednesday, August 24.

The centre is offering fun activities for children up to the age of 12, including drawing, crafts and offering refreshments, for youngsters accompanied by their parents. Barnardos ask for a £1 donation per family.

The theme of the day is road safety and safety in the home.

Pc Sarah Reveley and community support officer Tim Cousins will be available to chat to visitors.

Pc Reveley said: “These sort of community events are a good opportunity to talk to people informally while they are out having an enjoyable time with their families.

“We’re happy to give crime prevention advice and talk to people about any local issues they may wish to raise with us.”

Anyone with concerns about policing in their area can contact their local neighbourhood policing team on 03456 043 043 ext 69191.
