Police to meet residents over coming week

POLICE have arranged a series of meetings for local residents to air their views.

Officers from Wallsend neighbourhood policing team will be available on the following days:

Thursday, August 11, 10am to 3pm, at the Howdon Community Centre playscheme; Tuesday, August 16, 4pm to 5pm, at Battle Hill Library; Tuesday, August 16 at 3.30pm for an estate walk-about starting outside Howdon Library in Churchill Street; Wednesday, August 17, at 10am for an estate walk-about starting at The Dene and at Lidl car park and at Bisely Court at 11am; Thursday, August 18, 10am to 3pm at the Howdon Community Centre playscheme; Sunday, August 21, 1pm to 2pm drop-in at the Park House in Howdon Park; Thursday, August 25, 10am to 3pm at the Howdon Community Centre playscheme; Tuesday, August 30, at 3.30pm for an estate walk-about starting at the end of St Hilda’s Avenue in Holy Cross.

Sergeant Phil McConville said: “These events give local people the opportunity to speak to officers informally near where they live or work.

“I hope residents will take a few minutes to call in and find out who their local officer is and talk to them about any policing issues they may have.”
