Book worms are in for a treat when a popular book fair returns.

The Linskill Centre, in North Shields, will be hosting the annual Linskill Book Fair from Friday to Sunday.

Up to 40,000 second-hand books will be on sale, priced at 50p or £1, ranging from art to zoology, kids’ books to keep fit.

As well as perusing the plethora of books on sale, visitors can also enter the tombola to have a chance of walking away with a wide variety of high quality prizes.

All the books have been generously donated by the local community and sorted by the centre’s hard-working volunteers.

Kathleen Benson, who has been helping at the centre for four years, said: “We’re always amazed by the quality of the books that come in for the book fair and we’re very grateful to everyone who has donated books for the sale.

“There’s definitely going to be something for everyone among the books on sale and whether you’re a casual reader or a regular bookworm, this is going to be an unmissable event.”

All proceeds from the book fair go towards sustaining the Linskill and North Tyneside Community Trust, enabling the centre to continue providing the local community with opportunities and activities which benefit the whole area.
