POST OFFICE: Calling time on 30 years of service

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Joan, Bill and myself are leaving the special West Monkseaton Post Office.

Over the last 30 years that I have been part of West Monkseaton Post Office, it has been an honour and a privilege to work and manage this great business.

I have so many amazing memories over the years, winning the Post Office of the Year competition on three occasions, thanks to all your votes, our 20th anniversary party, the many coffee mornings we have held, raising thousands of pounds for local charities, to name just a few.

I have seen many families grow and flourish over the years, and have worked with some truly special people.

I feel very proud of the business and all that we have achieved, but as my parents wish to fully retire, we have decided that as we started the business together that we should leave together.

I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my thanks to all our fantastic customers for your generosity and support over the years, without you none of it would have been possible.

It will be with a truly heavy heart when I close the door for the final time on February 3. However, the post office will continue under new management and the existing staff.

I would like to wish you all good health and happiness and success, and I know that I will see many of you in the future.
