A physicist from Wallsend now working in Sweden has been back in his native north east to talk to potential scientists of the future.

Stockholm University physics professor David Milstead, 41, a former pupil of St Thomas More High School in North Shields, gave a talk to students at Astley High School in Seaton Delaval.

He said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and trust that the students found it helpful.”
