The third Proper Food and Drink Festival is returning to North Shields at the end of this month.
Northumberland Square will play host to the festival on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31, with organisers expecting to surpass the success of last year’s event.
Proper Food and Drink Festivals were founded by Mark and Shelley Deakin to bring large scale free food and drink events to open spaces.
They have been a huge success with events in South Shields and Whitley Bay pulling in huge numbers, with the local economy via the many local traders getting a boost.
Organiser Mark Deakin said: “We are delighted by the public’s response to our proper food festivals with fantastic feedback.
“The events are completely free to attend and include exhibitor stalls with the best the north east has to offer, great street food and Bars by Wylam brewery, Pimms and Caribbean Cocktails.
“We are looking forward to finishing our year of events where we started in Northumberland Square, which is one of the area’s gems.”
The event is free to attend.
