Public invited to meet police

MEMBERS of the public are being invited to an event next week to discuss policing issues.

Killingworth neighbourhood policing team are hosting a Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting at the Fairways Community Centre in Hoylake Avenue, Longbenton, on Tuesday, March 29, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Meanwhile police will also be hosting two online meetings for residents to contact local officers.

Whitley Bay residents are invited to go online on Wednesday, March 30, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and Killingworth officers are hosting their virtual event on Thursday, March 31, from 7pm to 9pm.

Killingworth Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Young said: “These type of meetings are new to us but we know they’ve been well received elsewhere in North Tyneside and I’m sure our residents will be want to take up an innovative way of getting involved in their local neighbourhood team.”

Officers will be able to tell residents about the work of the local policing team and the issues they’re been dealing with in the local community.
