PUBS in North Shields are battling it out to see who has the brainiest punters.
A new North Shields Pub Quiz League has been created, and already seven pubs have signed up for it.
The first finals quiz was recently held, with a team from the Spread Eagle taking the honours as well as the trophy and £100 prize pot.
The league is the brainchild of Graeme Oswald, owner of Oddfellows pub, and aims to encourage competition between quiz teams on a quarterly basis.
And the seven pubs signed up so far are The Porthole, Alexandra, The Gunner, Magnesia Bank, The Dolphin, the Spread Eagle, and Oddfellows.
Anyone who wants more information about the pub quizzes should visit one of the pubs taking part.
Oddfellows’ quiz nights are held every Thursday from 9pm and every Sunday from 8pm.
