Pupils have been given a first hand look at how a housing development takes shape.
Year 3 students from St Bartholomew’s CoE Primary School in Benton enjoyed an educational visit to Taylor Wimpey’s Ministry II development in Longbenton.
The youngsters saw how new homes are built and toured the finished showhomes at the development.
Teacher Christine Mitchell said: “We were able to give the children a taste of the workplace while teaching them about the construction of homes which they loved.
“The children took in a great deal of information so we are really grateful to the experts at Taylor Wimpey who took time out of their busy days to get involved.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “We firmly believe that children learn by experiencing new environments and children simply love the idea of building things. We were thrilled to welcome the class along.”
