Artistic pupils have outlined how they would bring shoppers into a town.

As part of a project, a group of Year 9 students at Whitley Bay High School were asked ‘how a town can enhance its shoppers experience?’.

They created a town logo, which they could merchandise and sell to visitors.

After taking pictures around Whitley Bay, they Photoshopped them into an image which was printed onto items including bags, mugs and framed prints to be sold.

The products were printed at Anne Thomas Work Wear and sold in a pop-up shop hosted by Papercuts.

The logo will now be taken forward to be printed and used around the town.

Julie Summers, of Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade, said: “The students have shown they are a very talented group. We are very proud of the next generation in our town.”
