PUPILS at a North Tyneside school are raising funds to help bring clean water to children in Africa.
Teachers and children at Burradon Primary School are hoping to raise £2,500 to install a water tower and filtered water tank system at Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School in Cameroon so it can treat and store clean water.
Bitame Lucia has no running water or standard sanitation facilities and it is hoped the money will improve the health and education of its 200 pupils.
The youngsters have planned a range of fundraising activities for coming weeks.
Teacher Eleanor Clarke said: “We want to raise as much money as possible to help Bitame Lucia improve their sanitation facilities.”
