A group of students were given a first hand look at life as an MP.
A total of 20 A-Level economics students from Whitley Bay High School visited the Houses of Parliament.
Once there, they met Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell, who helped arrange the visit, and spent half-an-hour talking to Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer John McDonnell MP.
Mr McDonnell answered questions on Brexit, budgets, tax evasion and tuition fees.
Ben Cox, head of business and economics at the school, said: “There is a growing interest in politics and economics for this age group and it was great to see them being given a special opportunity to discuss the issues in such an iconic building.”
