What a fantastic array of talent the packed audience at Whitley Bay Playhouse enjoyed when the pupils of St Mary’s Primary School, Forest Hall put on their annual show, this year entitled A Little Bit Of Magic.

The children and teachers had obviously dedicated a huge amount of time and effort into preparing for the show which was based upon three of the most famous stage musicals Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Sound of Music.

The toe-tapping numbers Chim-Chiminy Chim Chim Cheree, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? guaranteed full audience participation!

Umbrella charity Angels of the North was pleased and privileged to sponsor this outstanding event which was the first of a trio of such sponsored concerts featuring local primary school children.

The second and third concerts are entitled Angels of the North and they will both be performed by youngsters from throughout Tyneside, South East Northumberland and the Bommel Musical Theatre School from West Monkseaton at Sage, Gateshead on Monday, July 7, and Monday, November 24, November 2014, both starting at 7 pm.

Each breathtaking concert will feature 400 fantastic voices providing a sensational evening of musical theatre entertainment.

Angels of the North was delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor these three local large events incoming months.

Last year my charity supported the arts in a big way for the first time and the proceeds of the current programme of events will be used entirely to support local charities.

I am particularly delighted to announce that Angels of the North’s sponsorship next year will enable local children to participate in international events in India, France and the USA.
