Norham High School in North Shields has won two prizes in an online safety competition run as part of North Tyneside Council and other local authorities and agencies’ Safeguarding Adults For Everyone Week.

The council challenged youngsters to raise public awareness of the abuse and harm that can be suffered by vulnerable adults, and pupils at the Alnwick Avenue school, pictured, came up trumps.

The crew of the school’s Norham News programme made a safety video to be shown at conferences and meetings around the North East, and it was given the key stage three overall award.

Year 7 pupil Tina Campbell also won third prize in the key stage three poster category.

Year 8 pupil Molly Atkin said: “It’s fantastic to think that what we have produced will be used to raise awareness of these important issues.”
