KILLINGWORTH’S George Stephenson High School has witnessed a record-breaking year with its GCSE results.
A total of 65 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and maths, and an outstanding 32 per cent of all grades at A* or A.
Headteacher Ian Wilkinson said: “We are absolutely delighted with the GCSE results this year.
“They represent our best results ever and a clear improving trend. “It is a testament to the hard work of our students and teaching staff.
“The students have performed even better that we hoped and deserve these excellent grades.
“The majority of our students are joining us in the sixth form next year and we would like to wish them, and all the students leaving us, every success in the future.”
