MEMBERS of an organisation got their hands dirty when helping a borough-based charity which supports young people who find themselves with no where to live.
Gosforth Round Table came to the rescue of Depaul UK whose Whitley Bay hostel was in a dire need of a refresh and make-over.
Five members turned up at the hostel and spent more than six hours painting all the communal areas.
Julie Duell, partnership development officer at Depaul UK, said: “The transformation was amazing and everyone agreed that the place certainly was now a home to be proud of.
“Not only did the‘crew’do the work but they also purchased all of the materials.
“This was a fantastic demonstration of how volunteers can support the work of a local charity without having to invest lots of cash.”
