A total of 50 jobs are to be created as a retailer opens a new store in North Shields.
Variety retailer B&M is opening a new store at the Coast Road Retail Park, and is putting the finishing touches to the B&M Bargains store ahead of its opening on Friday, December 5, at 9am.
The ribbon cutting will be undertaken by representatives from the Tynemouth branch of the RNLI.
The local charity was nominated by the store colleagues and will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store. They will also be on hand with a team of volunteers to bag pack for the first customers, raising further money for the charity on the store’s first day.
Marie Rycroft, store manager at B&M Coast Road, said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around North Shields for our second store in the town.
“We’re really proud to be creating another 50 jobs this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.
“We are excited to get the doors open and have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and service to our customers.”
