Gladiators will bring history to life at the Hadrian Festival this weekend.
The event takes place at Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend.
Visitors can watch the action in the arena as gladiators undertake training and instruction, ready for Grand Tournament Sunday.
Activities run on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.
Then on Monday, the museum is offering young visitors the chance to make a Roman board game, along with a laurel wreath to crown the winner, again from 11am to 3pm.
It is part of a summer programme of events.
Children under 16 go free to both events, but normal adult admission charges of £5.95, £3.95 concs, apply.
