Rosie all set for World Jamboree

An adventure-seeking 12-year-old has been selected to travel to Japan for next year’s World Scout Jamboree.

Rosie is the youngest girl from Northumberland and Newcastle-upon-Tyne to make the trip where 30,000 Scouts and Guides from over 200 countries will meet to share each other’s diverse cultures by taking part in a packed schedule of exciting new activities and challenges between 28 July and 8 August 2015.

Rosie is a member of 1st / 7th Whitley Bay Scout Group and pupil at Marden Bridge Middle School

She said: “I was pleased and felt proud that they’d chosen me. I’m really excited that we’ll all be going to Japan, which will be an amazing experience.”

Having been part of The Scout Association since she was nine, she will be away from home for three weeks. In total there are 3,000 Scouts in the UK Contingent, and their activities will include visiting Tokyo, Hiroshima,
