Television actress Roxanne Pallett was the star attraction at a charity’s Christmas party.
The ex-Emmerdale star took time out of her pantomime schedule to drop in to St Oswald’s Young Adults Service Christmas party.
The youngsters, aged from 16 to 25 years, and their families were thrilled to welcome their guest. They wasted no time in getting autographs and photographs with the star, who is currently appearing in Beauty and the Beast at Playhouse Whitley Bay.
Roxanne even had a boogie on the dancefloor with some of the young adults and handed out their Christmas gifts from the Hospice.
She said: “I was so touched to be invited by St Oswald’s Hospice to join their Christmas party, I threw on my coat and scarf once my show had finished and raced from the theatre to be there.
“I was immediately greeted by an amazing little lad called Jordan who had more charisma and sparkle than all of the Christmas lights in Eldon Square.
“These young adults are beyond inspiring and their bravery is humbling. The staff I met are clearly God’s angels because their time and care is based on what these families need; pure love.”
“As someone who has spent a great deal of time in a hospice with a beloved, I know the value of the support needed to make a bad day better.”
Carole Dixon, children and young adults service manager, said: “We had a fantastic time at the Christmas Party and having a visit from Roxanne made it an extra special celebration for everyone.
“We are truly grateful to her for taking the time out of her busy schedule to come along to meet some of her young fans and the families who benefit from our services.
“I think a lot of the lads thought that their Christmas had come early.”
