A HAIR salon owner celebrated two years in business by holding a week-long charity fundraiser.

Sharon Liddle opened Envy Hair Salon in Shiremoor after being a mobile hairdresser.

And to thank her customers and the local community for their support, she held the fundraising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s local services.

Sharon said: “We’ve been really lucky and have fantastic clients.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without them so we wanted to give something back to the community.

“Cancer unfortunately affects everyone and I hear so many stories about the difference Macmillan has made and how fantastic the support has been, which is why we chose o raise money for them.”

A spokesperson for Macmillan said: “Without support from people like Sharon and the staff and customers at Envy Hair Salon, we couldn’t continue to provide this vital support and we really appreciate every penny they raised.”

Macmillan Cancer Support relies on donations to provide its services.
