School triathlon event raises £900 for charity

STUDENTS tested their physical endurance to help a charity which looks after service personnel injured in conflicts around the world.

A total of 24 students from St Thomas More Academy, in North Shields, completed a mini triathlon – swimming, cycling and running – last November in aid of Help for Heroes.

And last week, they presented a cheque for £900 to the charity following their hard work and efforts.

Also joining them at the assembly were representatives from Greens Health and Fitness, where the mini triathlon was completed.
