TYNEMOUTH Scouts tried their hand at surfing during their annual camping trip.
The group spent a week under canvas where they slept and cooked their own food after they raised money for the trip through fundraising events, which was matched by Barclays Bank.
As part of the trip the group went to Warkworth to try surfing.
Group leader Scott Gibson said: “The kids loved it and it was a great activity for them to join in.
“A lot of the kids are really quiet in camp, but they all really got into the surfing.”
The group are looking for newcomers to the cubs session starting on Friday, September 9, at 6.15pm. For details visit www.tynemouthscouts.org.uk
