THE search is about to begin to find cutest kids in North Tyneside.

The News Guardian’s Cute Kids competition opens this month, and we are encouraging parents to bring their children along to a specially set-up photographic studio to enter their child.

We will be in Whitley Bay’s Park View shopping centre between Thursday, May 24, and Saturday, June 2, where the photographer will take a professional picture of your child free of charge.

You will then be given an appointment to return to the venue to choose which picture will be entered into the competition.

There is also an opportunity to buy any photographs you wish, although there is no obligation to purchase in order to enter the competition.

There are three different age categories for the competition – 0 to 18 months, 18 months to three years, and three to five years.

All entries will appear on the News Guardian website over the following weeks, with the finalists then appearing in the News Guardian print edition.

Finalists will be chosen by our judging panel, and the overall winner will be selected by an in-paper reader vote. Prizes consists of a canvass print and cash for the winners.

No responsibility can be taken for any entries that are lost or delayed or anything else that prevents entries being received.

Further details and an entry form which needs to be taken to the photographer will be published in the News Guardian in the coming weeks.
