Services of Remembrance are taking place to remember those who lost their lives during conflicts.
Members of the public welcome to attend the events.
At 11am on Sunday, there will be the following services:-
l War Memorial, Burns Closes, Wallsend, following a procession from Richardson Street at 10.35am;
l War Memorial, Hawkey’s Lane, North Shields, with the procession leaving Queen Alexandra College at 10.40am;
l War Memorial, St Bartholomew’s Church, Benton.
Also on Sunday, a parade will leave Victoria Terrace, Whitley Bay, at 2.30pm ahead of the service at the War Memorial on the Links at 3pm.
On Monday, November 11, a Civic Service of Remembrance will be held at the Post-1945 Jigsaw Memorial at the White Swan Centre, Killingworth, at 11am. There will be a two-minute silence followed by laying of wreaths.
l The bells of Christ Church, in Preston Road, North Shields, will ring half muffled in the morning and evening on Remembrance Sunday to honour the fallen conflicts, in particular three bellringers who lost their lives during World War One – Robert and John Hogg and George Potter.
