Sessions to give help and advice on cancer

AWARENESS sessions are being held to help people cope with and reduce the risk of cancer.

North Tyneside Council has teamed up with Cancer Research UK nurses to host drop-in sessions at borough libraries.

Nurses will answer any questions as well as give advice on reducing the risk of cancer.

Body mass index (BMI) checks and a Smokerlyzer test, which measures carbon monoxide in lungs and bloodstream, will also be available.

The sessions are on:

n Thursday, January 31, 9.30am to 4.30pm, Dudley Library, John Willie Sams Centre;

n Thursday, February 7, 9.30am to 1pm, Howdon Library, Churchill Street;

n Thursday, February 7, 2pm to 4.30pm, Wallsend Library, Ferndale Avenue;

n Thursday, February 21, 9.30am to 1pm, Whitley Bay Library, Park Road;

n Thursday, February 21, 2pm to 4pm, North Shields Library, Howard House, Saville Street.
