The arrival of five new sharks has gone swimmingly at Tynemouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium.

The exotic Arabian carpetsharks – named Aladdin, Jasmine, Carpet, Iago and Abu – have been captive-bred at the attraction’s sister site Deep Sea World in Scotland.

Rosie Wiggin, from Blue Reef, said: “All five – four males and a female – are pretty much fully-grown and have gone straight into our main ocean tank display, where they are settling in well.”
