A popular food festival is returning to the borough this month.

Irvin’s Brasseries, on North Shields Fish Quay, is hosting an inaugural ‘Crustacean Appreciation Association’ as part of the EAT! food festival.

The event on Friday, February 20, will see fresh crabs, lobster, langoustine and shrimp on the menu.

Chef and owner Graeme Cuthell said: “We are serving a special five-course dinner that will showcase some our favourite recipes. We have live music and more.”

Tickets cost £45 and are available from Irvins on (0191) 296 3238.

Irvins are also planning a food offering for ‘Drink-Along Gatsby Deluxe’, which will be held at the Lit & Phil Society, Newcastle, on February 27 and 28.

Graeme added: “We were very proud and pleased to be asked to do food for such an exciting and ambitious event, it’s going to be a busy month.”
