Staff from a borough shop gave a helping hand at the opening of a charity’s new centre.

The group from the Wilko store in Bedford Way, North Shields, helped at the opening of the Pathways4All Tim Lamb Children’s Centre .

Pathways4All has recently opened the facility in the Rising Sun Country Park in Benton.

The centre allows the volunteers to provide care in a dedicated building.

The Wilko team spent four days cleaning and tidying the facility to prepare it for the grand opening.

They also donated gift cards as part of its Helping Hands scheme, which provided the team with much needed supplies and materials such as paints and gardening tools.

Store manager Sarah Deary said: “We’re really excited to be a part of this amazing project and are keen to show our support for Pathways4All.”

Pathways4All volunteer Lynne McManus added: “We’re so grateful for all they’ve done for the children here at The Tim Lamb Children’s Centre.”
