SHOPPERS across the region are being asked to have their hats at the ready for a Ladies Day themed event at the Metrocentre.
A ‘ladies day with a difference’ flashmob is taking place on Wednesday, May 25, as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the shopping complex.
And it will also mark the unveiling a giant silver installation and accompanying competition prize to win a VIP day out at the races.
The giant avatar-style silver statues will feature a man on his mobile phone and two ladies carrying shopping bags.
The public flashmob at Metrocentre’s Forum in the Green Mall, will get under starters orders just before 6pm.
People who turn up to The Forum wearing a ladies day hat could win £250, and there will be a fun race of jockeys in silks through the centre to entertain the crowds.
Metrocentre marketing manager Karen Carr said: “We hope that shoppers will come along to the Forum next Wednesday wearing their fanciest hats and join in with our flashmob, and be part of a little piece of Metrocentre history in the making.
“We are even giving £250 to the person who wears the fanciest headpiece and someone might win our big prize of the amazing VIP ladies day at the Races.”
