AN accountancy firm is feeling anything but blue – or even ‘blu’ – after winning a top award.
North Shields-based Blu Skybeat three other companies from South Shields, Durham and Teesside to be named independent firm of the year at the 2011 North East Accountancy Awards.
The company expanded last year after the merger of Blu Sky Accountants and Wearside’s Red Sky Bookkeeping to create Blu Sky but were still the smallest firm on the shortlist for the awards, presented at the Gosforth Marriott Hotel in Newcastle.
Dave Gibson, director at Blu Sky, said: “Obviously, we’re thrilled to bits.
“It’s a great reward for the tremendous efforts put in by the team members over the last year and recognition of the improvements we have made and are continuing to make.
“We still feel we are a work in progress, and this is great motivation to try to set the bar even higher next year.
“We’re proud to do our little bit to put North Tyneside on the map.”
