Staff at a Wallsend business park have helped to raise more than £24,000 for Help for Heroes.

Staff at Newcastle Building Society on Cobalt Business Park, have been raising money in support of injured and sick service personnel and veterans over the past 12 months.

Newcastle Building Society employees have brought in £24,440.80 for Help for Heroes (H4H) after voting last year to adopt the organisation as their dedicated charity.

The money has come in via a range of fundraising activities, including cake sales, cycle challenges and sponsored participation in the Great North Run.

Society staff also took part in H4H’s annual Christmas stocking campaign, which sends stockings to injured and sick personnel and veterans.

Natalie Falkous from Newcastle Building Society said: “Every year we’re overwhelmed at the effort and enthusiasm shown by our staff.

“This year has been no different and we’re delighted that the money raised will go to great use at Help for Heroes.”
