THE Rotary Club of Tynemouth recently held a collection at Morrisons, North Shields and raised £555.50 in aid of the Tynemouth RNLI.
I would like to thank Morrisons’ management very much indeed for their help in organising the event and also the Rotarians who gave up their time to collect over the two day period.
In particular I would like to thank the shoppers for their very kind donations during the present economic climate. Without their generosity we would not be able to assist our own lifeboat station which depends entirely on voluntary contributions such as ours.
Living so close to the sea we are aware of the need for a lifeboat in this area and are very proud of the voluntary work done by all of the lifeboat stations around our coast.
Well done everyone.
