Staff have been helping ensure food is available this winter to those in need.
Volunteers from Procter and Gamble spent time helping sort food deliveries at The Bay Foodbank after handing over a box of deliveries.
Ten members of the global consumer relations department, based at P&G’s offices in Cobalt Business Park, helped sort donations before filling the food bank’s shelves as part of their team-building event.
The Bay Foodbank was formed in February 2012 and since then has expanded, providing emergency food parcels for people who find themselves unable to afford food for themselves or their family.
Una Miller, a Bay Foodbank volunteer, said: “It was a good team experience and we’re thankful they came to volunteer. We all learned from each other.”
Glenda McIntosh, one of the P&G team, said: “It was a motivating and humbling experience. I was inspired by the team who have created this organisation from small beginnings to the operation they now have in place.”
