Green-fingered staff rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty to help a charity’s garden.

Employees at Procter and Gamble’s global finance service centre on Cobalt Business Park helped to spruce up the Marie Curie Cancer Care Hospital garden in Newcastle.

The 22 staff were part of a team that tidied the tranquil outdoor space surrounding the hospice – which provides end of care life to terminally ill patients – as part of a team building day.

They also took part in a fundraising event the week before to buy flowers and plants for the gardens.

P&G employee Helen Johnson said: “Several employees at P&G have relatives and friends who have received support from Marie Curie and have seen the value of this place first-hand.

“I’m so impressed with how hard the team have worked – despite it being cold.”
