Staff at North Tyneside General Hospital have raised more than £1,000 to help people living with dementia.
Staff on Ward 9 held a tea party, tombola, raffle and cake stall to raise the funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Cakes and prizes were given by members of staff, patients and their relatives and money was also donated by patients’ families and artist Keith Proctor gave two sketches.
Ward co-ordinators Jean Thompson and Sandra Justice organised the event.
Jean said: “The ward team care for many patients who have dementia and we wanted to hold an event to give something back. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped in some way.”
Dementia affects 800,000 people living in the UK.
