A group of students are bringing their business venture to a popular market as they look to go from strength to strength.

Newcastle University students Kelvin Teo, Rachel Woolford, Rebecca Arckless and Lan Cheng – who make up The Happy Hampers Company – are bringing their birthday hampers to Tynemouth market on Sunday.

The hampers have a birthday theme, aimed at those wishing to purchase on a budget, priced between £15 and £20.

Included in the hampers will be a greetings card and a range of items such as sweets, candles, photo frames, teas, mugs and coasters, and all gift wrapped.

Managing director Rachel Woolford said: “We are excited about the opportunity to be selling in such a vibrant marketplace and this will be a new experience for all of us.

“We put 100 percent passion into the products that will be seen at Tynemouth and we are excited about where the future will take us.”

Rebecca Arckless, managing director, added: “We have loved the entrepreneurial experience to date and the feedback we have received about our products and the team is extremely rewarding.”

The Happy Hampers Company are currently working with a website design company to achieve their ambition of selling their products online by July.

They will be selling in the east concourse of Tynemouth station from 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
