Fundraisers were hot-stepping it to a special charity night.

It got hot under foot for supporters of the Percy Hedley Foundation as they came together for a firewalk.

It was a fantastic evening and we were really pleased with the turnout.

Danny Mitchell, fundraising manager

More than 100 people attended in the sports hall for the event organised by UK Firewalk

The first to take part was the Foundation’s own fundraising manager Danny Mitchell while others who completed the walk over the hot embers were TV presenters Pete Graves and Peter Durrant.

Danny said: “It was a fantastic evening and we were really pleased with the turnout. It is hoped that we will have raised over £15,000 from tonight’s event which is vital funds for our Splash Appeal.”

The Splash Appeal is aiming to raise £1m to build a new, state-of-the-art pool at their upper school.

The Appeal is part of a wider capital project and alongside the new pool they are aiming to build a 24 bed residential unit.
