Residents are being asked for their views on what makes their community great.

A survey is being carried out among 20,000 households in the NE28 postcode – covering Battle Hill, Howdon, Wallsend, and Willington Quay.

The survey is being led by Wayne Daley and his team at Wallsend Children’s Community, with residents asked to give their views on what is great in the area.

Mr Daley said: “This is the biggest community survey undertaken in the area for years.

“It will be so helpful for us at the start of this exciting project to know how residents really feel about life in NE28.

“The survey is also going to give a really interesting picture of the ways that local people are helping one another through volunteering.”

Residents of NE28 can complete the survey online at www.GreatNE28.uk anytime before June 9.

Completing the survey should only take five minutes and everyone who participates also has the option to be included in a prize draw to win £50 or £20 shopping vouchers.

The survey is commissioned by The Wallsend Children’s Community which is based at Churchill Community College.

It is an initiative funded by Save the Children.

The aim is to help bring together local organisations to provide integrated support for children in the NE28 postcode area.
