A council’s team has been recognised for the service it delivers.

North Tyneside Council’s building control team retained its Quality Assurance accreditation following an external audit by certification body BM TRADA.

The service is delivered by Capita as part of a technical services partnership.

In addition to delivering the building control services, the team also provides fire risk assessments for the local authority’s building portfolio.

The team’s role includes ensuring building work is compliant with Building Regulations legislation plus safeguarding the health and safety of people around buildings.

Building Control manager Mick Clarkson said: “We’re delighted to receive this recognition. Achieving the Quality Assurance accreditation demonstrates that we’re delivering on our commitment to provide high quality customer-focused solutions.”
