Youngsters are being given a chance to score a place in a national competition.

Mini football teams are being invited to take part in the regional heat of the Indesit National Mini Soccer Cup, which last year attracted 140 teams and more than 1,200 children.

The competition, for mixed five-a-side teams at Under 8s and Under 10s, will see the regional winners earn a place at the Finals Day at Wembley.

The north east regional heat will take place at the Powerleague Soccerdome, Royal Quays, in North Shields on September 6. Entry is £15 per team.

Ian Moverley, brand communications director for Indesit, said: “After the hugely successful launch of the Indesit National Mini Soccer Cup last year, it’s back in search of the finest junior footballers across the country.

“The Indesit National Mini Soccer Cup is all about improving team-work and taking part, but above all, it’s about getting the whole family together for fun-filled day out.”
